Wow, so dad was not doing daughter a favor by giving her the property. I doubt even if she had the back taxes she would pay them considering how useless the property is.

That was the first time I drove a diesel. I was there every evening like clockwork.

Somehow, those memories make the tragedy of Paradise lost all the more destabilizing on a personal level. We don't realize what we have until it is gone. And although anyone I once knew up in that area is several decades out of touch, I can't help but wonder if the folks who sold me that bicycle decades ago are among the 660 folks missing, or the 63 who perished.

It has been said there are only but 6 degrees of separation between us all. We breath the smoke of this fire, and we also feel the somber burn inside. Even if we are safe, we are only 6 degrees from this tragedy, and some are yet closer still.

Thank you 04BadFord, for your act of service to those immediately affected.
thank you Y2K,

The last two seasons I've gone over and sprayed Round Up, but this year I'm going to add trimming of trees and elimination of bushes to a better radius. That property is a train wreck and I've never seen or heard from the owner, who inherited the train wreck from her father, the engineer of said train.

Here's some pictures of what is "next door." That lot is 150 feet wide and 1100 feet straight up a poison oak covered hill.

All this crap (ties, broken asphalt, broken concrete) is collapsing into my property.

The guy was quite the craftsman.

Haven’t seen concrete eating goats but they will knock the weeds and poison Oak down in a hurry,

You mean like all of the light blue patches showing in this radar image?

I hope it's dry for tomorrow while we are preparing for and participating in the annual lighted Christmas Parade. Clifford the Big Red Ford will be pulling the Cub Scout Pack!
