Generally speaking, yes, but stuff has to get done so I just go get it done and worry about it later.

Good morning, Gang! Really short week here! I'm taking Wednesday off so we can drive to Joisey. Was planning on seeing the parade in person again this year, but it's supposed to only be 16* at the start of the parade with a high of 25*, so maybe not....

In other news, the drywall is over 90% hung in the basement. There is one small plumbing project keeping me from finishing it & I'm picking those supplies up today. I have a guy coming to finish the drywall the first week of December. Then it is just a matter of paint, ceiling, subfloor, trim & finish flooring. I expect everything except for the finish flooring to be installed by New Year's. The carpet and vinyl flooring might be in for the Super Bowl.... The bar area won't get done until the spring or summer. The bathroom will have to wait until after that.

Morning Jason. I saw it's to get pretty cold later this week - neighbors are really gonna be scratching their heads when I wash the new truck (again, since I washed it yesterday) so I can give it a full and proper detail/wax job. No protectants on the paint at present...gotta change that, even if it is the winter unit.

Morning Bill, Jason, Ron, Chris, Craig, Ken, Bud and followers....hope that your Monday is going well on this short week.

Bill, just reading on your rust prevention and thought that I would share this picture of my truck. It is at the body shop and this is what they sent me last Monday once they got it opened up. On our trucks, there is an inner and outer rocker panel, along with a middle panel that provides the mounting point for the rear door striker. Shown here is what is left of the middle panel and you can see how bad this is on an 8 year old truck. This one was originally sold out of St. Marys, PA then spent time in Syracuse before being traded into my dealer. The underside of the outer rocker was just as bad and you could see the salt ring along the edge of the rust. Click on the link in my sig and I have more pictures in my build thread.

Morning Neil. Yikes - that's pretty nasty, especially considering it's only 8 years old.

I was just out to my truck, and discovered a cracked rear wheel spoke. Looks like something hit it - I don't remember hitting a curb or anything, though...

Ouch, that is not good, is it repairable??

Yes that rocker is nasty. The body tech said that he is expecting pretty much the same thing on the driver side. It was great to see that he was able to salvage the OE inner and that it did not get into the floor panel like he thought.

I think it could be repaired, but, I'll probably just find a wheel in a salvage yard and replace it. Gonna have to start making those calls now with the holiday week. It's not "bad" to where I'm scared to run on it for a day or two til things are resolved, but it's in my head that it needs done.

I'm almost worried to see what the extent of the rocker issues on the Bull are, but even they aren't as far gone as that. The metal definitely isn't what it used to be in these trucks.

That's exactly why I went with a 3rd-party rust protection program after I bought mine, Neil. It's under an 8-year warranty against rust & after 8 years I'm having them reapply.

Bill, which truck has the broken spoke?

The 2010, Jason. It's a small, but visible, crack for about 2" along the spoke, with what looks like an impact mark next to it.

I thought you were referring to the grinder, but I wasn't sure. That sucks, but at least it is the OE wheels, so a solution should be pretty quick & fairly cheap.
