i never used to get startled but lately I do but think it's because my hearing isn't as good as it used to be...

I have hearing aids but don't like wearing them..

It is a good thing to have.. I have lost my hearing in one ear for a couple months from working on printers..

 

Mine was lost at work over the 31 years underground around the rock drills..

 

I can believe that.. I use the backpack blower without ear wear and that may get to me after a while.. I used to put my earbuds in and listen to music or even with the music off.. but haven't done that this year or last for that matter..
