I did make good money in public safety, not great but good. However uniformed service usually can leave around 50 with full retirement and draw. In my case I was able to leave at 52. there was a legislature law change the held me 2 years. Then I could go and work anywhere and make as much as possible as long as I don't pay into the same retirement.

That is a good deal..
I know some that stayed in the service 20 years then retired and went to work for Raytheon..

Morning dood, I am mentally prepared for it. My body just needs to get use to it from having near 90* last Friday to this. Forecast is saying that we will be in the upper 60's for the most part over the next 10 days with a day or two in the low 70's.

Bud, may see a slight shower either today or tomorrow as some rain moves up from the south. They are not talking about any rain here until the beginning of next week.
