Question chip Decision

Fairly recently I got a 2001 psd and now I want to make it run like a bad ***. I already put a 4” down pipe and a 5” straight piped exhaust (there is nothing better than a loud truck). Now I want to get a chip for it but can’t decide what I want. I don’t want to settle for 70 or 80 hp I want over 100 hp but I don’t know what chip will do the best for me because I still need good mileage and there are times when I need to pull a trailer that is why I got the big truck. I really want to have a fast truck though.

chip Decision

Get gauges first....if you don't already have them.

And an intake...if you don't have one......AFE Magnum Force or Tymar are the most popular and both are good.

Sounds like you need a 2-4 postion flip chip. If you got a 4 position you could get like stock-75-125-OMG if you wanted.

There are quite a few chips that will put out 100+ hp and offer lower settings on them for towing and economy......Diesel Performance, Diesel Power, TTS, WD Quad Power, ATS, Bully Dog (I think), Diablo. There are people that are happy with all of the above......I think that the first three I listed are the most popular for the people looking to make some big power.

If you get a 100+ chip I would recommend looking into some trans. upgrades if you have a auto trans.

Hope this helps.
