Question dually

I saw the other day a early 70's ford with duals. It had a flat bed on it. Never the less I didn,t know that they made duallies of that age or is it an aftermarket set up. Also, I know of a early 70's 1 ton 4x4 sitting in a field. Are these 1 tons hard to find?

See my gallery...Older dually's are common in flatbed and utility form. The rare ones are the stylesides (w/ bed and fenders) Most of those are conversions, although I think I have seen an original 76 or 78 with dually's. Generally, the older 1 ton's can be hard to find, depending on where you look.

Ford did not build a 79-earlier truck with pickup bed and dual wheels.

I've seen a few, most were home-made jobs. My dad has seen a few of them back in the day. They were probably dealer conversions, but they were probably styleside dually's when driven off the lot. Whether it's "factory" I don't honestly know.

From the factory? No, they are not hard to find.....they are impossible to find. Ford did not make an F-350 4x4 untill '79. There were a couple of aftermarket companys that would make them though. Mostly into tow trucks.

Also, Ford has been making cab and chassis, DRW, 2wd, one tons since the 60's.

That would explain why I have never seen a 4x4 early 70's
F-350. So that brings up a question, what configuration are the trucks in the field? Are they the tow trucks w/ conversions, or are they 4x2's?

But then again, I don't look at 4x4's. My vice is 4x2 DRW trucks...

Found a thread posted by 1 TON in 67-72 Forum. In 65-66 4x4 on F-350 may have been an option. He's checking...
