My truck does the same, 6.2 F250 with 8 foot bed. Happens when backing my trailer in, as well as backing into my sloped driveway. Tried disabling the traction control, issue still happens. Going to bring it up to the dealer when I go for an oil change.

Im glad to see i am not the only one. I hate to say that but at least i know im not crazy. I really feel like i shouldn't have to do anything special like engage the e locker or disable traction control to back a camper in a space since i didn't have to do that with my old 1/2 ton. Don't get me wrong i love my superduty, and i bought it to right the wrongs of that ole 1/2 ton. But man it seems that 100k warranty might not have been a waste of $.

Short or long box - curious as the 8' has a 2 piece driveshaft.

I know in other trucks I've owned 2 piece DS can shudder under weird loads - but even I doubt that at the speed your going, but just putting it out there.

It's a short bed.

Mine does it backing up with any load, I have the 6r100. It is definitely tranny shudder. Reading about this issue across other manufacturers I believe it to be a line pressure issue. I live with it and chalk it up as another let down vs my previous 2016 f250.

I truly appreciate your perspective regarding the new Superdutys.
I have 62,000 mi. on my "13" and I LOVE it.
Hopefully some of the gremlins are figured out and fixed soon, but for now I'm gonna keep her.

Todd, it sounds like this is a 6r100 problem not a 6r140 problem. The 6r100 only comes in the gas F-250 configuration.

This problem yes.
I've listened to Mr. RainDesert's opinion as a whole and I believe him.

I took it to the dealer yesterday and of course we couldn't duplicate the issue. Even tried to power brake it in reverse to get the shudder. Computer came bake clean also. Today i decided to check all the fluids and when i pulled the trans dipstick i noticed alot of large black grit on the dipstick. I whiped it thinking i may have brushed against something on the way out and rechecked carefully and still more. I'm only guessing that it's my reverse clutch thats making this. Will take it back to the dealer with this new info.

I wonder if a 5-Star tune would solve this problem?

Anyone who has had this issue should check their transmission fluid and see if there is any trash or grit on the dipstick like mine had. My truck has a manufacture date of Oct 2016, and I bought the truck in July 2017 with about 150 mile on it. So it sat on the lot for almost 10 months with hardly any use. wonder if this might have let the clutch dry out and become brittle. I know it sounds far fetched but i am kinda desperate being I have a 45k truck with a possible bad transmission that will decide to completely fail with both my family and camper in tow 5-6 hours away from home.

I’m going to check mine tonight, have a build date of September 16 and bought in March of 17. Have had this shudder since it was new.

Let us us know what you find out on yours

My 2018 F250 6.2 is also doing the same thing. The truck now has 1,500 miles on it. I towed a trailer for the first time this weekend. A very small 5x8 trailer with 2 dirt bikes on it. It shuddered while backing this tiny trailer up my short mildly slanted driveway. I've checked the tranny fluid once at about 600 miles on the truck. The fluid was very clean and smelled good but seemed a little low but I might not of had the tranny temp hot enough. I need to figure out and buy the correct fluid and check/add fluid when I know it is at the right temperature.
