Grill change on my 2018. More to come.

Well, I knew I was going to want to change the grill and usually I like to color match. I didn't like the "nostril" look of the gray on these factory ones like I got here.......

I know I want to put an LED bar in it somewhere but didn't want one of the gawdy aftermarket mesh style with a gazillion lights in it as the centerpiece so, I went ahead and ordered one of these grills...........

I'm planning a 20" bar in the middle just below the main two beams. Hopefully they are supported enough against the wind after I cut out the lower center section of the smaller two bottom bars and put the light bar in the hole. 20" is enough to shine ahead on the trails and have good lighting on any hunt harvests or trips we are on and it'll help get back to our RZR's on the trail at night if needed. I'd like to put a set on the rear as well but don't think it'll look nice. I do need more light for the trailer when loading toys or cars on the trailer. I'll see what's available. More research coming up!

I like both colors. Think I might like black or charcoal better.

But hey. This is a pretty personal thing, and I think everyone should go with what they personally like because it is your truck after all.

Sure looks like the grey one has air scoops on either side. The might have looked good painted blue.

I don't disagree that the current one painted to match would be cool too but I'm sure I'd pay more for it to be painted than to order a brand new one. It was only $200 for the grill purchase. It does look like it has nostrils though and they aren't even functional in anyway. The twin beam will allow more air thru to the radiator it looks like too. That will be needed to counter the space taken up by an LED bar.

Either way, I have both to swap between if I ever change my mind. Not sure that will happen though.

A dealership is selling them on Ebay as new takeoffs. They must be changing them at their dealership to something else. I got mine today. $200 shipped to my door. I'll put it on tomorrow on my day off.

Well, I got the grill swapped. It's not as simple as a few bolts and done like older trucks but it's not hard once you know what you are doing. I did fail to do enough research though. The blue oval in the center of the grill has either a surround missing or it's supposed to be bigger on these grills because it doesn't fit. It's there but it's missing something. I'll get on that soon. I love the look. The grill matches perfectly though the pics show it darker. That's because the rest of the truck has road grime and snow dust covering it. I'm glad the simplest of things can still make me happy. Usually it takes me installing a turbo kit, blower, roll cage, building a new shortblock or something to those degrees to get excited. I'm getting old.

I am about to do the same thing. Can you provide some insight on how to make the change. Where did you start the disassembly of the grille. I cannot find any steps of how to change the grille out. Thanks

Here is a great place to help you get going. The only real hard part is the side moulding clips. They are a pain and can break the wheel well trim if you are not careful. They are behind the two screws in the wheel well. Just pry up from underneath but put a backer plate down to lever against on the bottom of the body. When you pry the moulding out some, you can either reach in with a small scribe and push the tabs of the clips in and keep them with the wheel well trim or you can do what I did and pry them off the trim and use the scribe easier after it's separate. Other than that, the directions are easy. The bottom body panel under the grill came out easy actually but you might have to pull it harder to get some of the clips to come undone.

Oops. Hope I don't get in trouble for posting a link to another forum. Some model specific forums frown on that.

Thanks, I will give it a try. After you remove the wheel lip molding and the bolts/screws that bolt the grille molding, does it just pull off away from the truck by pulling away from the truck by the clips?
