What do we do here?

Hey All-

I’ve got a new F250 6.2 coming so I figured I’d better pop in over here and become a member. Been on Powerstroke.org for many years discussing problems and solutions for the 6.0 I’ve been driving for 14 years. Thought I’d come over here to get a head start on all my 6.2 problems but I can’t find any. Is there some other forum I should be looking at? Don’t tell me the 6.2 isn’t going to require constant attention. What on earth will I do with all my free time?

You can do the spark plugs at 60k. Outside of oil changes and air filters, that's about it for a while.

you see what you see.... the 6.2L is a very good engine..

many well over 200,000 miles without any major issues...

do the required maintenance .. you should love your New truck..

if you can see users signatures.... lot of miles traveled LOADED...and Working.
I jumped "Ship" when I needed a 2500/250 class work truck... 2 years later I am still happy with my F 250...
with 156,000 miles and Tow Heavy..

Welcome, your biggest concern is going to be if youre on the 3.73 team, or the 4.30 team. .

I wasn’t correcting you chuck, we posted at the same time. I was just adding to the 400k, but I deleted mine as soon as I saw yours.

If gearing debate is the biggest issue around here I think I’ll be just fine! In the spirit of our finest politicians, I’ll ride the fence and say that mine’s got a set of imaginary 3.99’s!

mehhhh. when we are talking stock engine with over 400k miles with only routine maintenance, 1,000 miles over or less is not a concern.

The 6.2L engine itself is incredibly reliable. Very, very few issues year over year.
There was a transmission issue in the "new" 6R100; recall to replace an internal component.
There are some ancillary threads about singular events, but nothing whatsoever that you'll see repeat with any regularity.
Biggest complaints (if you can call them legimate or not is up to you) is about fuel economy (who whines about a big, high-revving one-ton truck engine is beyond me ...) and spark-plugs (there are 16 of them; twins in each cylinder, so a big of a chore to change eventually).
But I guess we gotta complain about something ...

Does the 6.2L pump out insane power like the new diesels (6.7L Ford now at 450hp and 935 ft-lb!)? No it does not. But then again it costs a LOT less money to buy and to maintain, and will also likely cost less in repairs down the road in long term ownership.

When it's time for a new truck, for me it will be an F250/350 SD with 6.2L. The reliability of this combo is the best in the HD truck business.

One thing you can do is play "I'm so glad" by Cream and sing along.

There are some "serious" debates on cab lights or no cab lights and mud flaps: yes or no! Like the 3.73 vs 4.3 debate and oil change interval debate, numerous correct resolutions are being carved in granite as we speak (type).
