I had one new side window, so I took that to a local glass shop. They quoted about $80 for one. I don't think he really wanted to mess with it. So I got one from LMC truck for about $60 shipped (I think.) Shipping from LMC was way cheaper than MidFifty. Maybe because they are only 3 hours away from me and MidFifty is across the country.

Bill, thanks for bringing this thread back up.

Here's what I did.

The windshield stayed in place for the paint job.

The rear window came out for painting and a new rubber. My body man tried putting it in without me there. On the phone he told me he couldn't get it in. I asked him if he put it in from the inside to out. He said no. And he asked if I had the right rubber. I said yes, the large lip is on the inside. He had it wrong! I get there and he says the glass is stuck. He can't get it out. I showed him the directions from Mid Fifty I left him lying on the truck bed... unread I suppose. Well next time I went there the glass was lying on the bed, cracked. So the rear glass was replaced.... and paid for by him.

The vent glass: I had Safelite put new glass in.

Sorry for the delayed update!

My wife etches glass all the time, not a risky or difficult process. If I were interested in keeping my truck "as Henry built it" I would make a stencil (easy to do on the PC) and etch the OEM logo onto your new rear glass.

Just be careful if you are trying to etch tempered glass. Can tempered glass be etched or carved?
