Cat back system question..

Cat back system question..

I have a 1994 F-150 with a 302. Could anybody recommend a good cat-back system for my truck, and will this screw up my engine in any way? Thanks..

Cat back system question..

I purchased a flo-master for my truck and I am very happy with it. As far as the horsepower gains they claim I am not to sure of but it was definately alot crisper after the install. As far as sound goes I would say this, a 40 series is the loudest they make, a 50 series is ok it has a deep tone and volume under hard throttle. The 40 can be heard inside the cab easily, the 50 it only takes a little push on the Kenwood to make it go away. Hope this helps.

Cat back system question..

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Nov-01 AT 11:33 PM (EST)]here's what I did recently: gutted the first cat, which had melted grayish stuff all over the internal ceramic catalysts, (don't know where that came from), went all the way out w/2 1/2 pipe and a Full Boar, "0" restriction muff., similar to the Flowmaster, and man this made new life in the ol '91 5.0. I even set the timing up by additional 5 deg's!! and still doesn't ping. It would ping like crazy before I did this exh. mod. So as many posters are saying, yes the exhaust is the first place to start. Next I'm getting a hi ouput ignition coil. hope to be of some help....
failed to mention: removed the second cat, but you should know what inspection regulations are required in the state you live in....
