From other work that I have seen theses guys do, it should come out looking really good. The only drawback is that it looks like it is going to cost me a little more than expected due to the cost of the middle panel. From what I was told, there is about a $400 difference between the inner rocker (that was not needed) and the middle panel. Also there was only about $100 difference between the OE and aftermarket outer. I was hoping that it would be less than the original quote but you just never know until it gets opened up.

Those double panels are rust collectors. I remember when the 57 Ford cars came out, the rear quarter panels rusted out in a hurry (double panel) while the 57 Chevys didn't rust (single panel)
Double panels might be stronger but...
I was working at a Ford dealership one Summer. We had a few 73 F100 models to undercoat. So another guy and myself decided to work OT. I was drilling the rocker panel and through the hole I looked down and saw the toe of my boot. Sure enough, wide open rocker. Mentioned this to the other guy and he said he just found out when he sprayed his boots with undercoat..

That is funny. My understanding is the crew cabs have just the inner and outer panels and the super cabs have this triple panel design. I believe that it is related to strength but the crew cab does have the B pillar in the middle to help support the floor structure from above where the super cab does not.

A lot of the designs have to do with strength and costs. Back in 57 to 64 Ford had that "cowbelly frame" on there cars to help support the floor as well as help protect the passengers in a side collision. Changed that in 1965. Be nice if the trucks had more support along the outer edges, instead of relying on a "cantilever" type support.
