72 Window Regulators

Hi folks, new poster here but a long time lurker. I have a 72 long bed Ranger XLT that the window regulators are shot in. Has anybody had any luck repairing these or possibly using regulators from a newer truck in the 67 to 72's? Thanks

73 and later won't fit.

I didn't try repairing mine, just replacing them with used units, they work, but the crank shafts are pretty loose.

Guess I'll have to pull one of mine and see if there's anything that I can do to tighten them up. Anybody else fooled with these things?

What part is worn out? A guy i know told me he was able to use JB Weld on the shaft that the window crank attaches to. He claims that it is working so far, but it is on the passenger side window which doesn't get as much use and he tries to take it easy when rolling it down. Might be worth a try.
