DOOO EEEET

It'll take a bit to get enough gas in the carb.

The float is leaking or not adjusted correctly.

I'm about to eat dinner. Look up a how-to on adjusting a Holley float.

Maybe this:

Note the part where you loosen the lock nut, and tighten the screw down all the way to start with.

Air

I've always been curious about how aerodynamic those aerial lifts are. Whoops... I wrote this in Verdana, not Arial font !

Well it drove down the highway fine I mean does take wind on jus like any other bigger vehicle would but nothing abnormal I don't think... I also have a 2ton chevy dump and it rides actually better then it cuz it doesn't have power steering so it's kinda the back and forth steering

So I'm waiting on plug wires cuz I noticed number 6 was fried so that could have been making it run rough but they should be in tuesday... but I had a question about whether I should install a fuel pressure regulator seen a few videos on that and mine jus come from gas tank to inline filter to inline electric fuel pump to carb and I now have a filter in carb since I got carb kit any ideas/pointers on this thought not sure if that will make a difference or not

You don't really need a regulator with the "stock" setup - the pump itself will only pump so many PSI, and the carb float can be adjusted to adjust for it.

Ok thanks for clearing that up for me I was kinda thinking the float would stop it from getting to much if pump does pump more then the recommended psi so I'm jus waiting on plug wires cuz yeah if I hadn't flooded engine and had to remove plugs I wouldn't have noticed that plug wire being fried and would've been running 7 cylinders if that's only wire that's fried but no need to check em I'm replacing them all cuz I'm sure they need it

And make sure the firing order is right - it's usually cast into the intake somewhere. My Motor's Truck Manual that goes up to 1979 doesn't list the firing order for the 370/429 for some reason, but it does list everything else for that engine, and firing orders for all other engines. Weird.

Cylinder numbers on Ford are:

Start at front passenger side, that's #1.

Going down the passenger-side bank, it's 1-2-3-4

Driver's side bank front starts at 5, going down it's 5-6-7-8

So standing in front of the truck, it looks like this:

4-8
3-7
2-6
1-5
