Back pressure in degas bottle

Installed reman, 6.4 with no problems until 500 miles. Started puking from bottle. Performed all the regular tests for head gaskets, vacuum, holds well. Carbon test, passed multiple different tests. Pressure test, passes. Put t on return line to degas bottle with pressure gauge so I could monitor and it will build up to 20 lbs while spooling and drops to normal after. Heater not blowing warm at all and cannot seem to meet desired engine temp. Confused as t has no oil in coolant, no coolant in oil, no diesel in coolant, no white tell tale smoke/steam from exhaust or no sweet smell of coolant from exhaust. Any ideas or something I'm missing here?

For some reason i honestly don't understand, diesels do not show the classic signs of head gasket problems. No coolant in oil or vice-versa. They also tend to pass the exhaust gas in coolant tests, even when head gaskets have failed.

The best way to test is with the pressure tester hooked up the the degas bottle. If pressure builds unusually fast when under heavy boost, you have your answer. Heater not working can be it's own seperate issue, but can also be a symptom of bad head gaskets.

If the engine isn't getting to full operating temp, ypu problably need a new thermostat.

Yea, did the gauge to degas bottle and it builds to 20 lbs before puking. Just hard to believe head gaskets failed on a new engine within 500 miles with mild tune and being pampered like a baby.

Hopefully that reman came with a warranty. Sounds like head gaskets. It could also be a ruptured EGR cooler if you still have them on the truck.

Egr, dpf, coolers complete delete with a mild tune. And of course warranty is void with tune.
