when i pulled the driverside apart parts of my theory held true.. the bonding agent didnt set in on the pads so they were lose between the caliper and rotor causing the bottle of rocks sound.. unfortunately something else happened too.. prior to doing the brakes this time i had several recommend putting antiseize where the pads sat in the retainers to keep them from sticking and dragging.. this turned out to be a bad idea... as it ended up getting on the rotor and then onto the pads.. i cleaned all that up along with taking sand paper to the pads to strip off the contaminated layer.. now i just gotta check the other sides to see if i need to do them too...

Howdy VA. Got the engine back in the Peterbilt last night!

 

Just the thought of that , gets me tired, Charlie.

 

I am tired from reading that Charlie.

 

Oh come now guys, it isn't that tiring!

Only the fourth engine that has been in it, third one we have done (Not getting too shabby at it honestly). Thing started up again today and will be moving under it's own power out of the shop.
