I was told by Ford that if I dont go pick up my vehicle they can tow it away and put it in storage. That I would have to pay all those costs.Im gonna park it in my driveway till I hear back from Ford Headquarters. My wife and kids will not be riding in that truck ever again. Its just not worth putting there lives at risk.A truck is replaceable my kids are not.

Find out exactly what all they did to correct the issue with your truck while you're there. They have to document everything they did to the vehicle. Including test drives.

I hate to say it but I agree with Brokenleg. If Ford won't make this right, it might be time to get a lawyer

I had a work truck do the same thing...only once and while I was sitting still pressing as hard as I could on the brake pedal. I know exactly what it's like when the engine takes off without any accelerator pedal movement. Mine blew apart the rear differential....

The part where they told the OP the truck was done and to come and get it. Whether or not a correction was made, the dealership needs to document every procedure that was done to the truck. Including test drives and the distance driven to at least attempt to recreate the complaint. They need to do this not only to get paid, but also to cover them in the event they were to get sued if the vehicle is involved in an accident after they worked on it. Especially if the vehicle is wrecked as a result of the initial complaint and they claim it was fixed when in reality it wasn't fixed. Documentation is vital in the repair industry.

The dealer said they did a update of some sort and drove the truck 50 miles over the course of 3 days.My wife asked if they would sign a waiver saying the truck was in good mechanical shape. They laughed at her and said unless it malfunctions while it's on there computer it doesn't matter. It just blows my mind with all the issues Ive had with my truck. The check engine light has never came on.At $100 an hour you would think the mechanics would be alittle more skillful. They always use the check engine light not coming on as a crutch.

I understand the frustration since I've been on both side of "can't reproduce the problem" line. Working with customers and truck equipment at work, I can tell you we've run into problems that are so hit a miss that we can run the equipment for 2-3 days straight and not have an issue. As soon as the customer takes it back it happens again... It sucks for both sides let me tell ya.

Did you get a reciept???? If the check engine light isnt on, then that means as far as the PCM is concerned everything is ok. (that doesnt mean much).... 50 miles over 3 days isnt much at all....

I assume you're keeping a paper trail, correct? Document everything! Get a dash cam or something to record the event the next time it happens. Start trying to find an attorney because I think that's where this is headed.
50 miles/3 days is not much. Let the Service Manager take the truck on a week's vacation with him, and then see if he comes back and says everything is fine!

You know, that dash cam isn't a bad idea at all...
