1966 Ranchero

Would anyone have any knowledge on the rebuild of a 4spd in my Ranchero. I just purchased this at the Harrisburg Mecum auction. The shifter is super sloppy. Thx, Mike D

Should be a toploader Ford trans. V8, right? What's wrong with it? Just the shifter? Is it a stock Ford shifter? Have you checked the shift rods etc? The second link has shifters, and you can probably get them through Summit, Jegs etc. Those would be aftermarket, preferably Hurst, shifters.
