The Ford wagon right in front is a 58 I think anyway based on the tail lights.

Bobby, Just thanks for such great memories. Seeing all those cars in the beautiful old towns. In color too. Growing up in the 50's was just the best. The cars are so vivid in my mind.

Good point. And these were tough steel workers, not white collar office workers. Many of these cars may have been the only vehicle families owned.

Another good point.

When I was a kid, everyone had a single family car that the Dads took to work. It wasn't until '62 that my Dad pony'd up $300 to get my Mom a '56 Mainline Tudor Sedan which eventually became my first car.

Not many foreign cars in that parking lot picture. A couple VWs and other smaller cars that I can't ID but mostly American built iron.
Side note: I went to work for an international company in 1962 and the company rule was, "No foreign cars in the parking lot".

Interesting how the parking was set up circular rather than in straight rows..

We never had more than one car growing up. My dad walked about a mile to the train station every day and took it into NYC. My mom worked at the high school about 3 blocks from our house. Most of the time the car sat unused in the garage. We only had three cars as I was growing up 1950 - 70. A '48 Ford Sedan, a '56 Oldsmobile and a '64 Chevy that I ended up taking to college my junior year (1971). All but the Chevy were bought used.

Forgot to add photo. I used the Chevy to tow my first Model "A" from Vermont to our home in New Jersey.
