Now, how do we get Monty, Doug, and Don there despite their protests?

Not sure on that one Rodney.

While out for Valentines Day, Becky got me to try crab. Wasn't bad. May just have to try one of these Maine lobster. Not sure who I am anymore!

Not wishing to offend anyone here that I hope to become good friends with in July, I have to say, I'm always amazed at folks who don't do seafood, or at least some seafood. I grew up in Indiana and moved to Colorado 36 years ago. Not exactly costal hotspots, but I think, on average, we probably do seafood three out of seven days a week. Lobster, crab, mussels, scallops, shrimp, oysters, clams, octopus, squid, prawns, escargot, and pretty much any kind of edible fresh or saltwater fish you can name. I LOVE 'em all.

Look out Maine. Here we come!

Don't misunderstand, red meat is perfectly fine too. My grandfather, great-grandfather and his father on my Dad's side were all butchers. In fact, when the family immigrated from Germany in the mid-1800's they opened the local town butcher shop in the little town I grew up in. Yup. meat's fine with me to, but I firmly believe you can do way more creative things with seafood.

OK, I'll stop now.

No offense taken Steve. Honestly the "fishy" smell turns my stomach. Not going to eat it if it doesn't smell good to me.

This crab didn't smell "fishy" so I tried it. OK. But that fishy smell make me want to hurl.

Understood! We'll just have to make you stuff that doesn't smell fishy! Not a problem.

Ah, the Orion! Remarkable aircraft and still flying after more than 50 years. Pretty incredible!

P-3 was a good plane, but you'd be proud to see the P-8 and its capabilities.

Probably can't fly through a wall though...

Yep. that's their reputation. I read somewhere that the New Zealand Navy set an endurance record in one once of over 20 hours. Shut down #1 and #4 and leaned her out. Pretty amazing stuff.

No question the P-8 is awesome too, and has capabilities never dreamt of even twenty years ago, but I look at aircraft like the P-3, U-2 and the B-52 that have been flying well over half a century and I'm just in awe that they got it so right way back then. I've watched P-3's dumping slurry on wildfires in the mountains and it's pretty impressive. It's like they're on their second career at that point. In fact, in that vocation, they seem to perform much better and last longer than even the venerable C-130, yet another aircraft born in the 1950's.

20 hrs aloft in a P-3 is believable......

Remember the old DC-3........

In Brunswick ME I over-saw all I-level maintenance for the P-3 Flight ...weapons systems....sensor systems Simulators......
Fantastic capabilities..... I managed a wee bit of PIC (pilot in command) time in the Flight Simulator......Fun bird.
