Axel Code for 95 Explorer
I have a 95 Explorer Limited 4X4 with axel code D4 on the door jamb. Searching FTE, I found a post that says this is a "3.73 limited slip axle in the rear. Your front is an 3.73 open axle." This was posted for a 98 Explorer, and I am guessing this is the same for mine. I've never delved into axels or gear ratios at all and I am selling this truck. A potential buyer is asking for this info because they have plans to do regular towing. Is this a good set of axels for towing? Is this part of the Ford "Towing Package" for the 95 Explorer?
