AC Problem

After driving 1000 miles the past two days in my 03 Expy EB the fan for the AC has seemed to have a problem.

After a while the fan will begin to slow down. If you manually adjust the fan speed to maximum it will increase, but not the "true" maximum.

To get the true maximum of the system I have to turn it off and back on again.

It seems like somehow a damper or something is closing or the fan is screwing up?

Has anyone heard of this before?

I have an appointment with Ford when I get back from vacation. They were scheduled to fix my squeak before I left but half the parts didn't come in, and guess what...they forgot to call me to let me know before I came in. It also ends up they are replacing my seat frames (the silent recall due to rust ones).

Thanks

AC Problem

Are you sure the fan is slowing down or is it that the system is icing up somewhere and blocking air flow. This seems to be the problem on my 03.

The airflow could be blocked. Basicly the airflow is almost stopped.

Yeap sounds like the same problem. Does the problem go away if you stop the vehicle for about 10-15 minutes and let the heat melt the ice blockage?

AC Problem

This happend to us on our trip to Fla. The fan was changing speed properly but the air flow was minimal. After stopping at rest stops the ac would operate normally for 200 or 300 miles and then the air flow would seem to be blocked. On the return trip it happend once and just after the air flow slowed down we hit a pretty good bump in the road and the air flow retuned to normal and it didn't happen again the rest of the trip.
PS- What this about a silent recall on seat frames?

I'm not sure...I never stopped the truck when the air flow stopped.
