Hey Guys, I've been away for a while but my 56 is now complete and I am enjoying it very much. I do have a new problem which just occurred. My truck is wired as a stock 56 with the exception of an Ididit steering column which gives me turn signals. Yesterday when I started the truck I noticed that when I put my foot on the brake pedal the two turn indicators both light up. Also the front park lights turn on as well as the brake lights. Neither of the turn signals will work when they are turned on. All other lights work normal. I suspect the head light switch but hope someone can point me in the right direction to start. Thanks for any help.

I would probably start with a look into the turn signal switch in the steering column. The circuit is supposed to isolate the brake signal from the turn signal whenever you have the turn signal "on" (so left or right). It is that way to make it so that when you step on the brakes with the turn signal "on", the turn signal will continue to flash while the brake light comes on the other side.
Somehow the power for the brake lights is feeding back to the turn signals. There is a common point in the column. It is possible that you have a bad ground somewhere like at one of the tail lights, but since the lights work I think that is less likely.
Check the wiring to the column. Sounds like it's crossed up some how. The front running lights and front directionals are not wired with the brakes. The brakes are only connected to the rear lights.
