Traction bars... OUO... PMF... any other acronyms?

One thing about air bags. I don't know if I mentioned it before. But when you run airbags when towing it unloads the leaf springs. When you unload the leaf springs then they lose the ability to fight axle wrap. Typically you will see more axle wrap with air bags.
One of the combos some people have done is removing the overload springs, then adding air bags (for the load capacity), and finally adding OUO traction bars. Then you get the nice ride quality with the softer springs and when you want to tow just add air to the bags, and the traction bars do the rest.

This is very interesting and makes sense. I have all 3 - PMF traction bars, Airlift bags with jounce and overload springs. The ride from the rear axle is firm unloaded and w/o the bars I had significant wrap causing vibration in 1st to 2nd gear while towing the TT. With the bags/bars I can see removing the overload springs, increasing block height to make up the difference and gaining a softer daily ride while not loosing any towing capacity. May want to consider that.
I don't know if you would notice as much of a ride difference with that style of traction bar. That style and design of bar tends to make it ride stiffer in the rear. So you could go that route and swap out springs to blocks and it may not change the ride characteristics at all.
