Help locating parts
I recently took my 85' f350 to the ford dealership for clutch problems. It has a 4spd. They told me I need to find parts for the clutch pedal assembly. Everytime I step on my clutch pedal, it has 1-2 inches of play before the clutch is engaged.

Can anybody lead me in the right direction.

They didn't tell me exactly what parts I needed. Their exact words were "you need a clutch pedal assembly. All your parts are worn out". So depending on price, I was going to replace everything. I can't find anything online.

My best guess is they're trying to make you go away cuz they don't want to phuque with it... clutch pedal stuff getting worn out happens all the time with mechanical clutches but not so much with the hydraulic variant that you have... but your firewall is prone to flexing and cracking and that causes incomplete clutch travel... have somebody operate the pedal while you watch from the engine bay area...

I appreciate all the help. I'll have to take a look and see exactly what is going on under there. if I do find something wrong, where do I go to find replacement parts or can I only get used?

Once the 2471 plastic bushings wear through, the shaft starts eating into the pedal support casting.
It's pot metal, so difficult to build back up and the odd shape means it will take time to fixture and ream to size if you did.
Finding a complete (used) '83-'86 manual pedal assembly is the expedient solution.

That is exactly what's wrong with mine. Just like ArdWrkTrk said. Where do you get the helm joint at, or did you make that yourself???

I got the joint off ebay, I think it was a 3/8"
then cut off the eyelet off the push rod
drilled the threads out of the heim joint so I could slide the push rod through
then I drilled and taped the heim joint for a set screw
on the arm the push rod clips to I ground the weld that held the stud in place and drove it out with a punch

My 81 linkage has the same issues. Fromwhat I have found there are a bushing or 2 missing in mine also.
My plan is I have a parts truck and goingto use the best parts I have and repair what I need to by welding the holes upand re-drilling them and weld the studs and grind/file back round to fit theholes. I am also thinking of hitting the hardware store for brass bushings sothe parts are not metal on metal.

Once the 2471 plastic they're nylon bushings: EOTZ-2471-A (1980/91 F100/350 & Bronco) wear through, the shaft starts eating into the pedal support casting: E4TZ-2L252-B (replaced EOTZ-2L252-B & E1TZ-2L252-A) = 1980/86 F100/350 & Bronco M/T only.

Dealers don't want to mess with trucks this old, so they make up some story about the parts being obsolete, so they can just "shine you on."
The clutch pedal lever shown as 7A554 in pic is E4TZ-7A554-A = 1984/86 F150/350 & Bronco. There are 171 available NOS
VINTAGE PARTS INC. in Beaver Dam WI has 151 = 877-846-8243.
