I haven't done as well as I hoped, but this year has still been a lot of fun.

I thought for sure Matt or Laser would take the crown this year, but Matt, your guys last week chose a terrible time to underperform for the week.

I gotta enjoy this. Relying on the numbers the pro's put up as a way to score the individual categories has so much damn luck tied to it, it's frustrating!

This year was more fun than last year for me though, because I really didn't think I had a chance until the Wednesday of the championship week. That's when I started thinking "hey! Maybe!"

Thanks. I truly feel that was my only chance, if those ahead, faltered.

I think part of why, is because our Fantasy season ended the same time the MLB season did, not earlier like last year. That means a lot of the teams stars and regulars on the teams that already clinched, get rested. There's also less of a sense of urgency for those teams already in, or for the teams already eliminated, so the numbers produced that last week can be skewed considerably. I mean, Zip had DJ LeMahieu and he only played 2 of the last 5 games to preserve his BA so he could win the Batting title.

And talking about that last week of the season, sure, the Dodgers didn't necessarily mail-in their performance the last three games of the season against the Giants, but I think everyone can agree they would have played with a lot more intensity had a playoff spot still been up for grabs for them. And since we score off of those players' numbers, you can see why I feel very lucky this years Fantasy season ended the same time the regular season did.

That's the way it goes man. Most of my guys quit hitting all at once. Just a thought, should we start a 2017 thread?

 

Mine too. I was really lucky in that the team Mark Teixeira had a worse week than me. I think if I played anyone else, I woulda had my tush handed to me again.

I thought about that but when Matt didn't do a thread announcement for sign-ups this year, and just went with the auto-renew, I figured what's the harm in just "auto-renewing" this thread too.
