You know you drive a dent when...

You walk out of Walmart or any other store, see your truck and smile. A little kid walks by it and you hear him say "Look dad, its a Bigfoot truck".
When you drive by a store front that is all glass and see a reflection of your dent and really smile.
You pass a dent setting in a field or next to a barn and turn around to go see if it is for sale.
You almost go in to anaphylactic shock when a new dent side in your local JY.
You have so many dent parts you get a new shed just for them and call yourself a "Forder".
You drive by the movie theater and EVERYONE standing inline looks at it.
1979 Ford is the only thing always typed in the search craigslist box, well of course 78, 77, 76,75.....

$800 original cost*
$230 for 2 new tires and an oil change.
$150 for a set of rails for a 5th wheel hitch
$500 to repair damage after an engine fire
$100 for one more tire
$120 to replace the cap, rotor, and adapter ring... AGAIN.
$16 for new plugs
$30 for another oil change
$20 for a fuel filter and a pack of refills
$30 for a vacuum switch
$30 for another vacuum switch when the first one broke trying to put it in...
= $1,226
ok, i haven't quite spent double on parts yet... is that good... or bad? LOL
*yes. we really did buy an 800 dollar truck and drive 1200 miles hauling a 30 ft fifth wheel with an untested truck having put nothing more into it than 2 tires, an oil change, and topping off the trans fluid. FORD BABY! said truck has now gone from Wisconsin to Texas back to Wisconsin and back to Texas. going back to Wisconsin in spring.

The radio is something that is used below 80 km/h.... above 80 you get to listen to the sweet whistle of wind through old rubber and the growl of your tires on the pavement
You can't figure out how to put your dad's car in drive..... 'cause there's nothing on the column!
You're ecstatic to get below 15L/100km highway mileage
You park beside dents to see who's driving them, even when you're not driving yours
You have dreams about rescuing lesser vehicles

one thing one of the POs did right on my truck... they got a console thingie and mounted it on the trans hump. no stick shift, no 4wd, nothing else there, why the heck not! so now i have 2 cup holders, a junk bin *cough* i mean a casette tape holder, and change slots. similar to this thing but not quite as large. works fine so far!

Or working gauges...
Mine had a little trash can, with weighted 'ears' that straddled the hump to keep it from falling over. I had an extra VatoZone cupholder with change slots and CD holder laying around, so I cut the ears off the trash can and it fits perfectly into the CD slot area. I put my junk in there (hand sanitizer, multitool, cassette to ipod adapter etc). And it has 2 cup holders ...I also have some cupholders from Target that I uh...happened upon...that go over the rail of a shopping cart...they fit on the door if you stick them in the window channel and fit a 32oz fast food cup perfect!

Also great for long roadtrips and getting rid of full cans of carbonated 'evidence' if you get pulled over

You know you drive a dent when:
you keep a topped off 5gal container of fuel in the bed because the only gauges that work are the ammeter and speedo
your AC is the pop out windows and rear slider
FTE is on your phone browser at all times just incase you need to look something up
if you know how to use the advanced search settings and get the dent page only
you don't leave home without 1/2 9/16 5/8 inch wrenches a leatherman and electrical tape
you have a perfectly good reason to tell the cop why only one tail light is working and can fix it before he writes the ticket
you plan road trips around fuel stops because of your 19gal tank
you know how far 19 gal of gas should get you
