Ok when I got the truck the wiring was a mess..They put a stakebody on it and hacked all the rear lights..None of them work and i want to start over..I cant seem to find ANYWHERE in the electrical diagrams of the manual where the head light switch wiring is..Does anybody know what wires I tap into if I were to put different tail lights on..And where to find the wiring on the truck (under dash, engine bay?) Im sooo lost

Yeah thats my main concern. Like I said it has a stake body so they put running lights all over but im not concerned about that right now. I'm gonna put a pair of "Jeep" style tail lights so its turn signals, reverse, and brake lights (easy to mount and work with) but anyway I need to know where the wiring for the new lights will have to be spliced into. I know it will have to be ran to the headlight switch so I need to know where to splice in.
So its where the easiest spot to splice in and what color the wires off the headlight switch. Isn't there a harness in the engine bay near the brake booster?

That's where they should be, then they run down the leftside of the frame to the taillight and across the back to terminate.
"From memory"
On normal pick up the Brown wire is running/license plate lights.
{On a stake truck the wire is Black.}
Green wire is left T/S & brake
Yellow/Black wire is Right T/S & Brake
Black/Red are Back up lights
There could be conflicts because there is a noted diffeence bewteen reg truck & stake truck.

Ok cool that helps. Thank you very much. Now is there an easier spot to get to rather than taking the headlight switch out? Like the main harnesses under the hood...
