I don't mind a road trip for the right parts and price. I love driving my 7.3 powerstroke f250. Any help you can provide would be awesome.

LED headlights aren't really necessary to make it "roadworthy" per se. I mean, it's a nice upgrade but it is a luxury in my opinion.

How is the rig mechanically? ...Steering, brakes, suspension, and drivetrain reliability should be the main concerns. Have those systems and their subsystems been addressed?

X2 on HIO words. A truck that will reliably start, stop and steer, IMO should be the $ priority. Then pass inspection, if it is all of the 1st 3, then the insp should be easy enough.

I know the led are a luxury. The headlights on it now look good and work. So far all new brakes and rotors, drums hardware pads master cylinder brake booster all new brake fluid shocks all around, wires cap rotor ignition coil, coil contacts, grill grill shell headlight bezzels. We need exhaust headers and complete dual exhaust system. New windshield.

Clear, Tinted & Sun Band windshields same: 1967/72 F100/750 / 1973/79 F100/880 / 1978/79 Bronco // NAGS (National Auto Glass Society) part number: W819 .. specify which type.

But, 1977 F100/350 from serial number O80,000, 1978/79 F100/350 & Bronco use a specific windshield weatherstrip.

So you need exhaust manifolds or want to replace the exhaust manifolds with headers?

Flowtech, Hedman, and Hooker are the most common header options. Surf over to our friends at Summit Racing. Aim for the thickest flanges and tubing among the options and your budget. Summit's house-branded welded mufflers are pretty much Flowmaster clones starting at around $35 each or so.

Tubing? Personally I like to weld my own using Summit's you-weld kit or just buy the bends and straight pieces you need and get to fabbing.

Having welder for these rigs pays back fast.. the less work farmed out, the more money that stays in your own pocket.... greenbacks you can use to get those LED headlights.

Awesome. Thank you very much. What's your best headers for the 351M in your opinion.

I like Sanderson, JBA, and FPA but I don't think they have applications for the 351M.

Others will likely chime in to assist... stand by.

I have Flotechs and hate them. They come down under the truck way too far and require some funky bending to make the exhaust work. I also would have liked for them to have thicker flanges. I bought the headers from another member here on FTE for $100 brand new in the box, so I can't complain too much

Sorry for the bad picture, but it's the best I have at the moment. Notice how far down the Flowtechs come. The are one of the lowest hanging parts on the truck other than the axles, which doesn't make me happy, but it hasn't been a problem yet...

That is because you used INSIDE THE FRAME EXIT headers....fenderwell exit is the way to go IMO. I have Hedman fenderwell exit's on my red truck. Easy to install (as long as your exhaust manifold bolts do not break off when begin removed) and easy to finish the rest of the exhaust system. No monkeying around the cross member.

I was never a big fan fenderwell exit headers. I always liked the cleaner look of chassis exit. There is plenty of room for chassis exit on these trucks. If my collectors were about 4 inches higher everything would have fit great. I even debated shortening them myself, but decided it wasn't worth the effort.
