ignition switch replacement

I need to replace the ignition switch in my '93 which is the old style (F2DC) and apparently you can't get them anymore. They offer the new style (F4DC) with a spacer which I'm told will work in the older applications. Has anybody dealt with this and does it work ok? Any worries with aftermarket?

Just replaced it on my '95. I got an OEM switch from Amazon. Came with the spacer which mine already had.

What kind of truck? They're all over still. Bronco grave yard, Rock auto, etc...I'm thinking of getting lock cylinder and switch combo for my '87. I'm only getting anything in run. No accy. position. Even to disengage the trans. I need to turn the key to run which is killing the one battery i have for this truck.

It's an F150. Neither Ford nor aftermarket appear to have the original design (F2DC) but they offer the one for the later models (F4DC) which, with the provided spacer, is assumed to fit. I'm just wondering if anyone has run into any issues with this setup or with aftermarket. I hadn't thought of the graveyard route with an electrical part, but it's an option.

Just replaced my '92 with an Amazon one, perfect fit, no spacer.

your 87 uses a completely different setup than the 92 and newer trucks use.

Yeah, I spoke to soon. Have you tried partsgeek.com? Don't see why you can't find it.
