Cell Phone Mount installed (PANAVISE GROUP BUY THREAD)
After buying probably a dozen different mounts for my car (magnetic, suction cup, cup holder, cd slot...etc) I discovered Panavise for custom vehicle mounts.
It gets better - Panavise is only about 3 miles from my house.
It gets even better - turns out one of my friends works for Panavise!
Edit: Thanks to Stewart_H for making this it's own thread.
Edit 2: Once you have the mounting bracket installed you have a lot of options if you google "AMPS mount (device name)" for holding different devices from phones to gps' to iPads.
EDIT 3: ========================================= If you wish to participate in this group buy please (read through this thread first and) go to:
Hope this isn't an outright hijack, but I'm going to throw a question out there since I assume a lot of you are running Torque Pro and using your phones as monitors of sort. I'd like to buy the Torque Pro and buy an 8 inch tablet to use as a dedicated monitor. After watching several youtube vids on Torque Pro, it seems that the app needs GPS active on the device to run the app ?? Is anyone else using a dedicated tablet for this?? I've got a Bluetooth OBD2 adapter ordered on Amazon.... should be here in a few days.
I use this one and absolutely love it. Sticks to my dash and holds tight even on hot days and even under heavy diesel vibrations. And I can unstick it and take it in rental cars and etc.
They make a bigger version for the iPhone 6 and etc.
OK guys - I picked up the mount today and it's SOLID. I'm going to install it this evening. Also, I do have the iPhone 6 plus if that helps y'all out.
Also, what makes this pretty cool is the fact that you can buy different mounts for the same bracket for different devices. So I could also pick up a mount for my tablet and use it on the same bracket.
I'm looking for a place to put my tablet for Dash Command. I've seen this version from a different company. They look solid but are pricey!
I can't promise anything but perhaps if people like what they see after I install I can talk to my friend there about doing something for FTE or a group buy (since we all have Excursions).
