1985 was 30 years ago. Good chance the original rear end could still be under the truck ....but, you never know....
Best to actually, visually, identify what it is.

No FoMoCo vehicle of any year has the AXLE code within the VIN
AXLE code stamped on the Warranty Plate 1957/79, printed on the Certification Label 1980 thru today.
