How much would it cost you for them to do it??
prolly alot less than if i did it... but wouldnt be happy... as the warranty states they have to put it back together the same way it came off the factory line... which id rather fix it properly than fix it to have it come back later...

I can understand that, but you don't have the money...

The truck is 10 years old.. If they fix it and you get 10 more years you will probably be in a new truck before then...

Why spend the money??

lol not really... seems the one in my truck blows the gasket every 50K... first one went at 53K... dunno if the 2nd owner did... but mines gone at 137K...

the head work i can get done for 2 cases of beer ... then id just need gaskets.. tax return will pay for the studs... the egr delete... meh not that much... the external oil cooler and the regulated return if i got the mustang going again wouldnt take me long...

less than 3K if i do it... and no guarentee itd be 100 for the dealer to do it... got to remember the warranty has a clause in it that they can deny anything they wish to cover... as in yeah they might cover the "parts" but can sit there and go your liable for the labor.. disposal of parts.. taxes.. and would still probably cost me over that 3K

So find out what the actual cost would be at the dealer..

Then you can make an educated decision

If the dealer chose to refuse to do it under the warranty, I sure as hell wouldn't let them fix it on your money.
