I have a 1976 F100 4x4 with a four speed manual transmission. I put a 74 model 302 in it. I ordered some headers but they would not work because the engine did not come as a option on this particualr model. The passenger side will work, but the drivers side will not work because of the clutch and the four wheel drive. I have 3 questions.
1. Would headers off of a later model 302 work with this set up?
2. Do I need to use custom steet rod block hugger headers?
3. Do I need have have someone custom make me a pair of headers?
You have to buy them for the application. If there was not an application listed and you bought some other application your headers have a great possibility of not fitting.
1- No
2- Maybe, check with the makers.
3- You will need to find a company that lists this application or have them built. There are some companies listed here in other threads that may be able to help you.
