She got pretty worked up this morning. Her cousin (on her dads side not related to Diana's mother) went to another Assisted Living Center and convinced her mother she needed to move and made a large deposit with no due diligence / background investigations. This place has, shall we say, a less than stellar reputation. I think we have the problem corrected

So did I Don, so did I. I am convinced it is a "quick sand" situation. It just keeps sucking you in and the more we struggle to get out, the more we get sucked in.
Cousin, last night, sent a text message to Diana. Then today, she called and accused us of lying about the facility she is wanting to move the MIL to...not a wise move on her part. I am sincerely hoping that she now understands the errors of her misguided mental process.

If I ever am deemed in need of moving to a "assisted care facility" I will opt for swallowing my Beretta.

This cold/allergy mix is kicking my **** round the block... Hopefully I will be able to go to (mock trial) regionals saturday. No way am I going to try to be an attorney while im trying not to hack up a lung.

 

I'd never swallow the Beretta. The place we found for her is a very good place. My old Police Captain's widow moved herself, of her own volition, in there about a year after he died. My old HS / post HS & neighboring farm girl type girlfriend moved her folks in there when it would have been much closer and more advantageous for her to move them into a home in Dallas. We know a number of very picky people that elected to move to this facility of their own volition. This place has only had 4 substantiated minor complaints since 1995.

They have all sorts of activities from outdoor adventure trips to casino trips to beach trips, in house Bingo of course and on and on and on. Classes, gatherings and activities every day. However, they don't force you, it is up to you to get out and be active and participate in social events not sit in your apartment all day long dreaming up hate and discontent.


Buck up there young man. In 30 years of public safety, I spent many a day in the court room when I was sure I would have been better off in the hospital....or at least at home consuming 86 proof cough medicine and sinus reliever.

 

I would use some if I had some handy. Modern cough medicine is a joke, couldnt make a dent. So is ibuprofen for that matter.
Normally, it would be just fine to go into a "regular" trial and present while mildly ill, but mock has very limited time and would "prefer" non ill participants.

Its not so much the fact that its sapping my strength and making it hard for my to do my daily duties as it is just plain annoying. Id rather have the flu (lasts 16hrs avg. ) or get shot in the **** with birdshot (that would do me some good actually). Having a mild cough, headache, congestion, swelling, is just annoying.

 

I LOVE silly ideas, so long as I don't feel inclined to actually implement them!
