Are you getting corrective laser surgery along with the cataract? Is that a package deal these days?

If you pay the upgrade fee the cataract surgery will correct both vision and astigmatism. If they're right on the money, there is no need for corrective lenses after the surgery....except for reading glasses. I need reading glasses to read a book, the newspaper or the computer. And forget tying fishing line to a hook unaided. I think the need for reading glasses is fairly common after cataract surgery.

The replacement lens will have astigmatism and distance corrective properties.
The distance correction is included with the standard fees......all covered by Medicare and TriCare. The astigmatism correction is not covered by any insurance..... $900 out of my pocket for each eye.......

I think I paid at least $1,000 for the astigmatism correction, each lens of course. Seems like a racket.
