Hey Dennis,
We were through Lititz on a 4th of July a while back - hard to forget that chocolate. The fireworks in that valley were amazing as all the little towns celebrated. Saw some volunteer firefighters from Upper Perc(?) battle it out with firehoses. Beautiful place to live. Heal quickly over there.

Yeah it hurt, I saw stars even though it was cloudy. I had leather gloves on and I held them tight against my face so as to not drip blood in the house.

Abe, the 1st picture was after I started to clean up. My wife wanted pictures for facebook. The 2nd picture was 24 hours later. I think it looks worse now, more purple in the face. The eye goes shut while I'm sleeping and then gradually opens up as the morning goes on. My son the medic was pushing around my face and asked if it hurt. Well yes. But he said I didn't break anything.

I bet I'll get a lot of questions at church tomorrow. Dennis

It's a nice place to live and work. In 2013 we were voted the coolest small town in America.

Man, I'm glad you are OK, relatively speaking.

Yeah, dripping blood in the house is a no no. My household has so many trips to the ER each year, that blood doesn't get us too excited. The most critical thing is not to stain anything with it.

Sounds like my house as well. As soon as it is confirmed that blood didn't get on anything, take pictures.

Well that could be fun. You need to come up with several stories and tell a different one to each person. You have to make it much more interesting than falling on your truck frame. If the story were told by my wife the details would change and become more entertaining the more times she tells it. Being **** retentive, it used to bug me when her facts change. But now it's entertainment for me.

Be sure to take good care of it so it heals properly.

UPDATE:
I will have a surgery in 2 weeks to remove 2 screws and 1 plate in my ankle. Its crazy but the Doc says that I will be awake for the removal and I will be able to walk out on my own 2 feet right after surgery! I'm excited as this has been a long winter for sure!

While I don`t like any mention of surgery that means the end is in sight.

Be sure to keep the hardware. You might be able to use it on one of your trucks.

I could see maybe removing the screws, but a plate too.....wow! You have to be excited about getting closer to being healed. Take care of it until then. Well and after too.

Kevin, by all means save the hardware. Take a little jar with you.

I'm almost all healed by now. Dennis

It probably is best to remove the plate, if you spend much time out in the winter that plate could cause a lot of pain when it gets cold.

They are only removing the plate and 2 screws from the ankle. They are leaving in (for now) the plate and 6 screws in my leg
