I say COOPER AT3's. My third set. Last well. I've had good luck in snow, mud and rain.

Will probably put them on my wifes truck next. (As soon as I feel the need to replace those damned GY SRA's).

The nice thing about Coopers would be an American Made Tire by an American Company on a quintessential American vehicle.

I'm really liking the looks and the price of the Coopers and you all can color me kooky but, I've got an eye on the Hankook Dynapro A/T. The tread design is close to the Rugged Terrains, they are similarly priced to the Coopers and the reviews are amazing. The Hankook's on my truck have nearly 43K on them and still show 5/32's of tread. I've never had an OE tire last like this.

IIRC, you are looking at upgrading sizes, yes?

this may not apply, but one of our work trucks just got new tires and it looks like there is a new all-terrain offering in the 235/75r17 that came stocks.

looks like hancook is making their dynapro atm in that 235/75r17 now.

personally ... it's coopers for me. i got a set of 265/70r17 cooper ATP's from discount tire online for about $105 a couple months back. didn't quite need them yet, but with $190 in rebates/discounts i couldn't pass them up.

i've got 2 of those ATM's on my expedition, and they are the loudest dam tire i've ever ridden on ... absolutely hate them. BUT!!! i bought them used for $60each and the tread is cupped, so that may be why they are loud. I am surprised though, i've had them on for over 10,000 miles and i figured the cupping would be gone by now.... so IDK. i know i'm looking forward to wearing them out and getting back under a set of coopers!!!

I'm upgrading to the 265's. They fill the wheel wells better and there are tons more choices than in the 235 series.

My local Discount tire shop could not get any Cooper Discover AT3 in the size I wanted.
So I went with a Nitto Terra Grappler LT275.65.18 E rated tire.

Off came Michelin stock tires at P265.60.18 SL rated that had 39000 miles on them and was close to the tread wear indicators.
I am loath to crawl under the truck and ****** the spare and jack up the truck in the desert heat. So off they come.

I liked those Michelins.....quiet and smooth. Not so good in the loose stuff, especially sand and I am close to having a 900# dry weight pop up camper installed so I wanted some extra load capacity.

To my surprise, the Nittos are QUIET and SMOOTH. I can hardly feel or hear a difference. Running 38 psi now.

$208 each in Las Vegas. The stock TPMS sensors were reused and not a problem according to Discount.
The same size in a Michelin were over $250 clams each.

I was told I would lose a little bit on the MPH due to the Nitto being a heavier tire and with a AT tread vs AS.
No biggie.
I am satisfied.

Thumbs up

Am glad you found a tire you like. Keep updating the tire as you go.

They were a tire that I have considered, if I didn't go COOPER.

It is going to be very difficult to talk myself into Michelin when the time comes.

The Bridgestones have been very good so far.... and are much less expensive.
I am with you...I have the Bridgestone Dueler H/L's and so far they have been good tires. They are quiet , ride nice, and look to be getting great treadlife. I have about 25,000 miles on them so far and they still look almost new.

If I needed tires (265/60-18) I'd at least call about this set of tires. They appear to be brand new.
Used Michelin LTX A/S, 265/60/18, 109T 1 Tire For Sale #31874

I have 34k on my Hankook Dynapro ATMs and they need to be replaced. Still have probably 6-7/32 left, but are downright dangerous in rain and snow and have been for a while. My next tire will be the Discoverer AT3 or Toyo AT2 - probably the Coopers base on price alone.

My 10F150 came with the Hankooks but I didn't like them, they just didn't seem to grip the roadway like my BFG long trails I had used before.
I changed to the BFG Long Trails at 5000 miles and now at 47,000 miles they need to be replaced.
Discount Tire has the Michelin LTX m/s 2, for $812 otd + a $70 visa prepaid card, that $812 includes the TPMS rebuild kit for all 4 tires.
This time it will be the Michelin's.

Tim, I wish you were a bit closer to me and I know what you mean about the upsizing. I have a descent set of 265/70/17 BFG A/Ts take offs from my truck. Sure they are used but still in pretty good shape. They are just sitting there in my basement with the 17 inch rims from my current truck. I posted them up on Craigslist and never got a bite on them.

As for a tire, I like my Cooper Discover A/T3s on my truck. The tires have been doing well for me on a 3/4 ton truck. I am sure they will be more than adequate on a 1/2 ton truck. I also like the BFG A/Ts I had on my 150, They did the just well.

My current BFG L/T are 255 not the 235 and the 255 is only $52 more OTD, so I guess I'll just stay with the 255 with the Michelins.
