engine octane requirement

I want to buy a 1977 Lincoln Mark V (400CID), and I need to know what fuel Octane number does this vehicle require.

engine octane requirement

To the best of my knowledge, all the 400 engines in any application (but the first year?) were low compression "smog" motors and will run fine on regular gas.
