Thats true Shawn. But it does delay them a few seconds. And a few seconds can mean teh difference between getting cuaght and getting away.

one of the trucks they nabbed a tail gate from in the parking lot the guy still had 30 day temp tags on it.. said he had only had it 4 DAYS!!! was only the 2nd time he took it out...

yup... some people use the trucks as a work truck.. bang the gate all up... then look for a cheapo replacement... makes it easy for the thieves to sell..
they had a report here not to long ago they had someone run through the mall parking lot.. nabbed 30 tail gates in under 5 minutes... Security camera caught it all on tape.. but the quality of the video sucked.. so they didnt get plate numbers.. or any idea as to what the perps looked like... 15 different cameras caught them.. even sent security to nab them.. but they got away before security could get to them...

yeah really... i wish theyd make them louder to get off... lol... or have it so that when the gate comes off the trucks panic alarm goes off... lol something to sound alarm...

It isnt Shawn. I know it isnt. It is having them in strategic places that can catch something going on and having the quality to be able to id vehicle plates or people.

my s10 i didnt ever have to worry about its gate getting stolen... the cap came down and overlapped the tail gate.. so you couldnt open the gate without the cap getting opened first... f350 now.. its just got that vinyl top they can easily slash through.... and get to the catches from the inside...

they didnt even have to do that... not 4 months prior they had another string of thefts there at the same mall.. showed off in the news just how grainy the videos were... car thieves stole 5 cars around the lot... so they knew the video quality sucked... mall did nothing to fix it...
