I came across this thread and after reading the first 30 pages......I was a little discouraged. So I read the last three and have faith it may help me out.

Ambient temp has been hovering 50 degrees today, I've driven mostly in town w some mixed freeway. I hover around 182-184 via my Edge Cts. Once got to 188.

I'm going to order one and in two weeks go on a freeway trip of 1800 miles.

I will post my results.
Sounds like you are certainly due for a thermostat replacement! Thanks for picking up our product, looking forward to your results.

Initial test drive got temps to 200 on highway, as soon as I pulled off it dropped to 198-195, then went up to 198 and hovered there on the back roads.

We'll see how it does on a little road trip this weekend.
Interesting, this seems relatively normal except for the 195 dip. Keep us in the loop regarding your temperatures on the road trip. Have fun!

228* very very close to overheating pulling a 5K boat....

Got the Tstat a couple weeks ago and installed it with other goodies I was doing, new radiator, hoses, new coolant...etc

First trip out in 75-80* weather here in AZ, pulled a few grades of 3-7*, relatively short, 5-10 miles.

Even on the flats the temp was 208-214*

First thing coming out is that Tstat to try to isolate the problem...

Before you remove the stat....
I see you have an EGR delete. Is the EGR valve still connected electrically? Those temps coincide with an EGR valve that is disconnected, which causes the engine fan to not work properly.

Interesting results. Let us know what you find. The temperatures seem rather high on the flats. Any idea if you got all of the air out of the cooling system during the bleed?

What were your temps BEFORE the new 'stat? Have you ever had to install a new Engine Oil Cooler?

Im assuming that I got all the air out of the system, I did a complet flush removed only 1 side (drivers) of the plug on the engine block, flushed it with water totally clean...drained it all and filled 4 gal.s of Ford Gold Premium into the system.

As far as temps prior to new Tstat, I don't have accurate info on that, bought the truck and ran it without a digital gauge for a couple of months. Did a few upgrades one of which was an Edge Insight and the cooling system, so no prior data....

I'm a little late to this discussion but have a question that I didn't see addressed in the previous posts..

If you change to a higher T stat won't that also increase your EOT as well?

Right now my coolant temps are running in the low 180's with the EOT's about 8 degrees above that. Wouldn't that mean that my EOT's would now approach 205 to 210 without a load?

They'll both go up, but not necessarily the same amount. At least mine didn't. I was running a 10-12 degree spread with the stock TS with ECT in low 180's. it's 4-5 with the Mishimoto TS. ECT fairly stead at 200 now. EOT 205.

As the temps have been warming up, my ECT has too. I rarely see 201 any more. Many times it is 204 or 206 and that is empty driving home from work. I am concerned it is going to be a problem when I finally get to pick up my fifth wheel in a couple of weeks.

Did you boil it hot / cold a couple cycles? I was at work when mine went in so I used a heat gun, let it cool then a heat gun again.

If I understand it correctly if it doesn't seal perfectly when it goes in, coolant will seep by and may never get warm enough to actually open/close and seal on its cycle.
