97 7.3 front engine bracket problem

Hello, I wanted to run this by everybody and see if anybody has ran into this issue. My Ford F-350 7.3's bracket that is right behind the belt pulleys where it looks like the power steering pump comes through and bolts to the bracket. one of the bolts has snapped in two and the bracket cracked around the other bolt causeing the power steering pump pulley to turn while the belt is trying to run straight. I got the truck home but now I will have to deal with that. My question is has anybody else had this happen just out of the blue? or has it happened becuase bolts were over torqued from previous work? I also wanted to know if someone would know where I could get one of those brackets and what a fair cost would be.

Thanks

I have not had that happen. Not sure what may have caused it unless something is out of balance causing the belt to bounce around. A wrecking yard would be your best bet unless someone here has one laying around from another project.

i had that same bracket brake on my old truck about 3 or 4 years ago, started the truck up one morning, backed down the drive and pop all i heard was clanking metal and belt squeal, dont know what actually caused it but ended up getting that bracket off ebay dont recall the price, didnt really come up with anything but high prices at only a few places. this should be the part number F6TZ 19E708 AA.

Ok I was curious if anybody ran into this problem before. I had a oil plug replaced which required the bracket to be removed and other items. I was thinking that maybe the bolts were torqued to tight or something. How would you check for balance? This is my first Diesel Truck so I'm not up on the balance info.

Does anybody have advice on where to go and get parts? There is a guy that works on my truck but he uses the dealer for parts. for a compressor bracket I found one for $159.00. I'm in Kentucky so if someone knows a local place I would appreciate knowing about it. Thanks!!

No, its not code, sorry for the confusion. In post three #3 he helped you with info and a part number so I gave him a reputation point. To the right of the post number and the word permalink is a red button. If you click on it, it gives you the opportunity to tell the person that you were helpful. The more reps a person gets, the more green dots you get. After all this explaining, are you going to give me a reputation point, LOL Just kidding!
