Convert to 32 valve DOHC?
Hi!
Since the Lincoln had a 32 valve option of the 5.4 Triton, would it be very difficult to convert the 3v engine to a 4v DOHC engine? Obviously, new heads are needed with new timing components to fit the DOHC configuration, but what else? Would the ECU have to be replaced, or just reprogrammed? Intake manifold? I know also a few Mustangs had the 32 valve engine...

Ok, sounds like it would be more headaches than good...
Do you know if the timing guides and tensioners are the same for the 4v 5.4 and the 3v 5.4? Reason I'm asking is that I'm planning to do a timing job on mine, and I found an aftermarket company (MMR) which makes guides in billet aluminum, which I would presume is much better than the OEM plastic ones, and I would love to put that in rather than plastic guide, as I would be much more confident in that they would not break as time passes....

I don't know, but my suggestion is to call MMR and ask them. They might have a full application guide to reference for you.
