Diagnostsic help white smoke rough idle

Stuck carb float anyone?
So got back to the truck today out of necessity, my wife's 2004 Pacifica threw a rod on Wednesday are you kidding me!!
Gotta get the truck back on the road so start it up same thing puffs smoke then continues to smoke although not as bad. Really smells rich so I jump up under the hood and look down the carb and gas is pouring into the back barrels! that could be a problem, shut it down and open the site plug and sure enough gas pours out.
Long story short I remove the float adjustment needle and reinstall and wow starts idles no smoke ye ha!!
I realize there are still some issues coming up valve guides are still going and that one cylinder is looking a little weak, some oil on the head around #4, but hey if I can put that off a bit until I replace that crappy Chrysler!
Thanks for all the help!

Sometimes you can smell it and sometimes not, but I have changed my oil after every time I have had a major excessive fuel problem.
You might be fine, but it's just cheap insurance for me.

Dumping too much fuel down the carb can actually let some past the rings and into the oil pan. From there it's mixed with the oil and reduces it's ability to do everything we need it to.

So true.
Totally off the subject... I have a set of cast iron GT40 heads I bought off of a guy at a custom shop around the Oceanside area about 12 years ago.
We did a vacation down there. Beautiful area man, but I couldn't deal with all the people and traffic.
One thing to take note of when you change the oil, is how much drains out. I have seen it where there is as much as a full quart of fuel mixed in the oil. Probably not in your case, because that much you'd be able to smell.
