WOW - those storms were from Richmond, VA to Canada! No damage here, but plenty of damage/fatalities around the area.

 

Morning everyone.

You know that it is going to be bad weather wise when the dispatch center puts out a request for all fire departments to be manned. We had a nasty little storm cell roll right through the center of the county going west to east with winds forecasted to bust near 80 mph

There were a lot of trees, limbs and wires down across the area. Heard some reports of roofs being blown off of houses, people being trapped in their homes due to fallen trees and wires. Heck, one department even had a call to deal with a barn that was blown into the state highway. My department faired pretty good, we had a tree blown down across a road, limbs down in the road and an issue with a transformer & wires near the fire hall. Also, I had no water at the house for a little while last night, not sure if there was a water main break or something else.

 

We have power outages around our place in NY. Lots of trees blown down. Son said Cornell U is closed due to road blockages.

Plenty to do down here, Pat. Lawn to mow, gas leak to fix, truck to unload. Tired just typing, time for a nap.

That's the 2nd big storm near my daughters.

I HATE RODENTS. Will kill any on property.
Found the gas leak on the truck some !@#$%^&*( little !@#$E chewed on the line where it comes from the pump. Little @#$% was probably attracted to the ethanol corn smell.
Now to get some parts.
Raining down here now so, ....nap time..

 

Hello New York, just wanted to drop in to say our prayers are with you guys after the storm. Folks down here in Ms. know exactly what you guys are going through.

 

Hey Mitch, thanks for the kind words and for stopping by. Tornados are not that common here but there has been an increase of them over the last few years. This is the second or third confirmed one for this year, and the first to cause some people to loose their lives.

 

Well at least you found out what the issue is, sucks about having to repair it.
