Count me in too. Mine is an Ecoboost.

This is spot on... maybe even the synthetic horse flavor.
"synthetic manure/farm smell is the best description"

Dealer has truck right now too, says that they can't pinpoint it and is going to deodorize the A/C system. They also just checked for TSBs etc and found nothing.

im usually told the same things, for just about all of the 'issues' I document.

my smell started around 30K on the dial. I now have 37K
I am regularly parked at a barn with cattle. however its not running, or parked inside. at first I though.. no-way is that smell sticking around!..

ill once again have them take a look. however now issues I have told them time and time again, are now under review because im into my extended warranty period..

Let me know how your dealer visits go, bartlettjw and BETCHER78. I'll be here if you need my help.

Thanks Crystal!

The local dealer couldn't find anything but noticed the smell as well. They used some "Fridgie-Fresh" to try to treat it. It helped but did not solve the problem and it is starting to get worse again.

No solution specifically, but another take on this...

I had a 2011 BMW with 23K miles. It had a rank smell when you went from AC to vent only.

Many posts in BMW forums suggested deodorizer which eats mold and mildew deep in the system. One such overpriced german branded one is 1Z Klima. Expensive. Cheaper ones would probably do.

The can of deodorizer has a long tube. You're supposed to push that tube down into the system and it is supposed to clean and sanitize the evaporator (purportedly where the gross stuff is decomposing). You are supposed to see fluid dripping from the drain.

I tried this and it didn't work (never saw fluid dripping)...a month later I bought the new F150! God knows where all that stuff went. It's probably pooled somewhere in there. Maybe the Ford ducting allows the liquid to drain better into the evaporator area.

Only reason I asked is because my 2011 Lariat and my wife's volvo both do this and the only commonality is they both have leather seats. Otherwise totally different vehicles.

I ran an hour long highway trip two days in a row this week with the temperature set on high for the cabin and the seat heaters on high. I also made sure that the A/C compressor was off and still has been off now thinking that less condensation may help. No luck.
