Keyless Entry Code
Has anyone been able to find the keyless entry code for their truck? I lost the card and was told the code was somewhere on the truck under the front panel, but I have been unable to find it.
Thanks, the dealer wants to charge me $40.00 to get it out of the computer which takes all of 5 minutes.

I was luck enough to get the dealer to give me the code while the x was in for a 1yr free oil change. I asked if they could retreive the code, that when I bought the truck used from them, that I was not given a code. While picking my truck up, the rep handed me her card with the code written on the back. I had asked on previous visits, and a different rep said $20. I was told by the parts man that the module is in the drivers door. I have been unable to find it though.

Do a search for this subject that has been discussed many times. Bottom line. If you truck is an excursion, the computer must be hooked up, the data downloaded and it takes about an hour for the whole deal. I watched my dealer do this. The other ford SUV's had other tricks to get the code, but the excursion was in the computer only. I have heard of folks having to pay around $50-$75 for this code. I had mine done when I bought it so I didn't have to pay.

If you know where the truck was sold new, call that dealer. They may have the code logged in their sales files (I can tell you that we do, but it's up to each dealer). You may have to provide some sort of proof that you now own the truck (if you bought it used), but that's just a dealer taking the right precautions.
