I hope this is the right forum for this. It's in regards to an Escort and not a truck, but I'm assuming the computers are similar.
My friend took her car in because the engine light was on. They plugged it in to the computer and it said there's a Diagnostic Troubel Code (DTC) of P1443 in memory.
There's a TSB on this issue that says to test the Purge Flow Solenoid voltage, EVAP canister purge valve sensor, or reprogram the PCM.
Does anyone know anything about this kind of thing? Can i just change the solenoid and sensor or does the computer have to be reprogrammed?
Any thoughts on what to do or where else to turn would be greatly appreciated.
No apologies needed. You're free to ask in the General Conversation section. You'll probably get an answer there. I don't have a problem with non-truck questions on the site, just want to keep the truck specific sections on-topic.
