Made it back from Diamond Lake yesterday without any troubles.

Still fighting this stupid cold that I've had for almost a week now.

At least it's not raining.

 

Sucks being sick on vacation.............and the fishing?

Going up the coast and meet Chris......That'll be nice.

Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else.

Getting into History again. Just leaving to take the folks to the Back to Ballston Picnic. Used to be called the Founders Day Celebration. Since GGG Granddad Ball was the founder, I guess we are supposed to go?

Ballston's main claim to fame now is a 1 "horse" barn for a Fire Department Sub-Station and one 4 way stop sign. The old General Store/Post Office/Gas Station got torn down a month ago. The blacksmith shop across the road went away several years ago and a Volunteer Fireman's house now sits on the spot. The Polk County Park in Ballston still has the 1 room school house from the 1800's sitting in it.

Dave, yes having a cold away from home is the worst.

Fishing at Diamond Lake flat sucked! We fished really hard Sunday through Tuesday with three boats only boating 8 fish. Wednesday it looked and felt like Tillamook Bay in the winter. White caps, swells and all.

Thursday we bailed and went to Lemlo and got 20 fish for two boats. Friday we did even better boating 24 fish between two boats.

So not all was lost. Everyone we talked with were only getting 1 - 2 fish per day with many hours spent fishing. Slow any way you look at it. The weather was miserable Tuesday and Wednesday. The Blackbird Fishing Derby was last weekend. That didn't help matters at all. Basically the fish have plenty of natural food to eat and didn't want to be bothered.

 

Back at camp cooking dinner over the open Fire............yummmmm

Got a chance to meet Chris and bride. That was nice ! Nice friendly folks who talk American.......Ya know, The Constitution Rules......Hang the traitors.....
He even gave us some firewood and didn't charge us $10 a stick........

Did some sightseeing.......then back "home". Been a Great Day, have really enjoyed the weather

Drove to Bend and took Robin to one of her favorite restaurants for lunch, nice little drive, stopped in Camp Sherman and Suttle lake............The scenery was VERY nice at Suttle lake.
