I'd put the new motor in an see how it rides. All you may need is a slight spacer.

I was off sick the past two days. At work today and then off the rest of the week. I realized these one day work weeks are my style. I need to figure out what job lets me work one day a week....

Lol well its an aerodynamics thing you see... the nose pushes the air up and as ir comes down over the back side it causes thrust since the rear is lower thus causing the truck to get better over all economy which is way it is a standard in Cali becasue they have such strict inspection rules there.... it's an engenirring thing lol

Did anyone get anything good for xmas this year? I didn't get any car parts for the truck despite my consistent nudging what i wanted lol. I did get some nice weather tech floor mats for the Expy and an electric impact gun though so i can take bolts out without breaking them or my back now!

Quick question quys, why do people prefer steel over fiberglass hoods? other than the fact that steel is stronger why is fiber glass so bad? one perk is it is lighter than the steel hoods but is it because it can crack under enough stress?

Only thing I like is that steel is easier to work then fiberglass if it gets dented. 9/10 fiberglass hoods crack when they are dented and fixing that I personally have no experience in.

Not sure about the hoods difference. Guessing the quality. Seems like the guys on here prefer the goodmark hood though. What kind of impact did you get? Those weather tech liners should be pretty nice. The Huskys in my truck are awesome. Wife got me a Scanguage. Have to go locate the trans temp codes for it today. I did figure out the coolant temp guage though as it is built in.

I didn't get any truck parts for Christmas, but did get a new knife and a bunch of clothes and hats. I did by my Dad some custom tunes from Gearhead for his 6.0 Should be fun, once we get a chance to try those out.

For me it would have to be steel. I think its more of a durability thing like Trav and Bently said. I feel like it would just be much more prep work and harder to take care of with the fiberglass. But that's just me.

Are you looking at any hoods in particular? I would eventually like to put a nice cowl hood on mine. Just for the hell of it, I've been looking at them lately, but still haven't been able to find one that I really like yet.

I got a Kobalt one from Lowe's it seems really nice haven't opened it yet lol been so busy between my fiance's divorced grandparents and parents i spent all day driving around and now im at work today so haven't been home long enough to play lol.

I am looking at the cervini ram air hood i think it will look nice with the fusion bumper and keep the engine bay cooler at the same time.

As long as you don't get the keystone hood. If you do I will stop helping you spend money. LOL

Seriously though I don't know what they were thinking on that hood.

The ram air looks really nice. Doesn't gigger have a hood like that?

I think its beast stalker who has it unless Gigger had it on his old truck, lol thanks for helping guys. I am mainly thinking cervini because everything i have seen from them seems top quality and many people say the fit is perfect and just as good as the OEM hoods. I thought about the cowl hoods because they are easy to get in steel but i really personally like the ram air hoods better i like how aggressive they are but that's my opinion lol and they don't come in steel that ive found yet.

I don't particularly like the keystone one.

I don't normaly like the ram air hoods either, but the cervini one doesn't look too bad. I like the look of their cowl hood, but still not really what I want. I think I would like a little narrower cowl and I actually like the "style line" or whatever you want to call it, that goes up the middle of the hood like the factory hood has. I think I like the 2" cowl better too.

But with the cervini's, again I would much rather have steel, but that's just me. Just something about it, I would not want to have fiberglass.

The only one that I have found that I kind of like, or at least like more than others is one by street scene. But I can't find many pictures of it, and not sure on the quality.

I thought Gigger still had his 06? I haven't been paying much attention in the ultimate super duty thread.

I think he does, but not for sure. I was wanting to ask him about. I thought I remember seeing that he had ordered a new truck two separate times, but never saw or heard anything after that.

I just looked more at the thread Bently linked to. I really like the look of the Reflexxion in the last post of the first page. Those are some of the better pictures I've seen of that hood. I think it looks great! And those are all steel too right?
